Dirty Rascal - The web series
As with all live music in Melbourne, Dirty Rascal has had to take a break from live playing as a result of the COVID pandemic. But in the words of Winston Churchill "never let a good crisis go to waste" and we have made great use of our time in isolation to create a whole new series of videos. This series of short episodes follow the band through the process of recording their second album. Early discussions and rehearsals, listening sessions and ultimately on to the recording and release.
Episodes will be released here on the website every two weeks from late October, so keep an eye out (and an ear).
Episode 2 is now on the Web Series page
DIRTY RASCAL formed around an album of songs Andrew McSweeney (McSweeney, Kutcha Edwards). Andrew engaged grammy award winner Jerry Speiser as a producer on the album and there they met John Fleming (Scared Weird Little Guys) who played guitar and sang on the recording. A few iterations of the band later, Mal Jones and Ian McDonald have rounded out the lineup. Dirty Rascal explore the twists of life with clarity, performing at the natural frequency of A432Hz generating an uplifting experience in rock, pop, country, blues. Rich with vocal harmonies and a driving rhythm section. The Rascals precise arrangements and their live connection with audiences is a tribute to their level of experience and expertise.
